Exolum Mannheim Launches Pilot Plant for Blending Green and Fossil Fuels
Exolum Mannheim GmbH has launched a pilot plant designed to blend fossil and renewable fuels, allowing for digital tracking of greenhouse gas reductions. The facility, which connects to three storage tanks and utilizes sensors for accurate mixing, aims to promote climate-friendly gasoline and sustainable aviation fuels. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Transport's ongoing efforts to enhance climate-friendly fuel production, supported by approximately €325,000 in funding for the BlendBilanz4Mobility project.

Exolum Mannheim GmbH has opened a pilot plant that mixes measured quantities of fossil and renewable fuels, enabling digital documentation of greenhouse gas savings. The facility connects to three storage tanks for different fuel types and employs sensors to ensure precise blending.
This initiative supports the use of climate-friendly gasoline at Lake Constance seaports and sustainable aviation fuels at state airports. The Ministry of Transport has committed to scaling climate-friendly fuel production since 2018, with the BlendBilanz4Mobility project receiving approximately €325,000 in funding.
