ExxonMobil to Invest $2B in Berbice Gas Pipeline by 2030
ExxonMobil plans a $2 billion gas pipeline to Berbice, part of efforts to strengthen Guyana's energy infrastructure by 2030. This investment underscores the company's extensive commitment to the region, with over $65 billion allocated for various projects.
ExxonMobil is set to develop a second gas pipeline to Berbice, estimated at $2 billion, aligning with President Irfaan Ali's energy infrastructure goals before 2030. The existing pipeline to Wales, a 12-inch facility completed in December 2024, is part of the $1 billion Gas-to-Energy project, which includes a $759 million Natural Gas Liquids facility and a 300-megawatt power plant.
Additionally, ExxonMobil is evaluating partnerships for the Longtail and Haimara developments to secure gas supplies for future industrial projects. This substantial investment emphasizes Guyana's role as a crucial investment hub in the region.
