FCT Minister Wike Strengthens Development Partnership with Japan for Abuja Master Plan Review
Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has pledged to enhance collaboration with Japan to accelerate the development of Abuja. During a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Suzuki Hideo and JICA officials, Wike highlighted the ongoing review of the 1979 Abuja Master Plan to align it with modern needs through 2050. Japan's historical contributions to Nigeria's infrastructure and sectors such as education and health were acknowledged. Key projects include a $9 million solar power initiative and a $12 million power grid stabilization effort.
