FedEx Begins Utilizing Sustainable Aviation Fuel at Five Major U.S. Airports
FedEx has begun using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at five major U.S. airports, including Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and JFK, starting in late 2025. The initiatives also cover Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Miami International (MIA), and Los Angeles (LAX). FedEx has contracted various fuel providers for a total of 5 million gallons of SAF across these locations, with DFW being the first U.S. airport to regularly utilize SAF. The company emphasizes the need for increased SAF production to meet growing demand.

This follows earlier SAF initiatives at Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Miami International (MIA) in October 2025, and at Los Angeles (LAX) in May 2025.
FedEx has contracted World Fuel Services for 2 million gallons of SAF at DFW and JFK, with additional supplies from Air bp at ORD, AEG Fuels at MIA, and Neste at LAX, totaling 5 million gallons. FedEx highlights the necessity for increased SAF production to meet aviation demand.
