Finland and India Establish Strategic Partnership in Digitalisation and Sustainability During Stubb's State Visit
Finland and India elevated their bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership in Digitalisation and Sustainability during Finnish President Alexander Stubb's state visit to India. The countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Migration and Mobility Partnership, facilitating the movement of Indian professionals to Finland. They also renewed the MoU on Environmental Cooperation, focusing on bioenergy and renewable energy systems. Both nations aim to double bilateral trade by 2030 and expand collaboration in emerging technologies, including AI and 6G.

During Finnish President Alexander Stubb's state visit to India, Finland and India elevated their relations to a Strategic Partnership in Digitalisation and Sustainability. They signed a Migration and Mobility Partnership MoU to facilitate the movement of Indian professionals to Finland.
The existing MoU on Environmental Cooperation was renewed, focusing on bioenergy and renewable energy systems. The leaders set a goal to double bilateral trade by 2030 and agreed to establish a Joint Working Group on Digitalisation and a Joint Task Force on 6G.
They will co-host the World Circular Economy Forum in 2026 and initiate joint research initiatives under existing arrangements. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation on technology, clean energy, and multilateral issues.
