First Ship-to-Ship LNG Bunkering Service Launched in Zeebrugge
ENGIE Zeebrugge has commenced LNG bunkering in Zeebrugge, Belgium, servicing UECC's new gas-propelled vessels. This operation signifies a key advancement in the European LNG bunkering infrastructure, addressing growing emissions regulations in the maritime sector.

ENGIE Zeebrugge, the first purpose-built LNG bunkering vessel, has begun operations in Zeebrugge, Belgium, providing LNG to UECC's M/V AUTO ECO and M/V AUTO ENERGY. The vessel, which has a capacity of 5,000 m³, loads LNG at Fluxys' terminal, which recently added a second jetty for smaller carriers.
This initiative is crucial for the development of LNG as a marine fuel amid tightening international emissions regulations. The bunkering service aims to enhance the supply infrastructure for LNG-fueled ships, which are expected to increase in number. The collaboration under the brand Gas4Sea highlights a commitment to promote LNG in the maritime industry.
