Floratom Doubles Yield with New Greenhouse Technology in Hungary
Floratom's modernization strategy has doubled crop yield per square meter from 15 to 30 kilograms, driven by new facilities and technology. The shift is crucial as climate challenges intensify and energy costs rise, positioning Floratom as a premium market player.

Floratom has invested in advanced greenhouse technology, including taller structures and a high-pressure fogging system, allowing for a yield increase from 15 kg/m² to 30 kg/m² for peppers. This investment responds to rising climate extremes and energy costs in Hungary, with geothermal energy meeting most of the heating needs and expectations to reach zero emissions.
The company anticipates the harvest from its latest expansion shortly, emphasizing the importance of quality in plant selection. Labor challenges and rising costs remain significant risks, reinforcing the necessity for operational efficiency and technological adoption.
