Fujitsu Launches Blockchain Experiment for Green Steel Value Flow in Japan
Fujitsu has launched a demonstration experiment aimed at enhancing the value flow of green steel in Japan's steel industry, scheduled from December 2025 to February 2026. This initiative, part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's FY2025 Industrial Research Project, will leverage blockchain technology to ensure secure data distribution and environmental value verification, supporting decarbonization and sustainable supply chain practices. Insights from the experiment will inform the development of green steel information distribution mechanisms and expand into the steel industry data space after 2026.

Fujitsu has commenced a demonstration experiment focusing on the value flow of green steel in the steel industry, starting December 2025 and ending February 2026. This project is part of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's FY2025 Industrial Research Project.
Fujitsu will utilize its expertise in CO2 emission reduction, blockchain technology, and data distribution to ensure secure data distribution and environmental value verification. The experiment aims to facilitate decarbonization and establish a sustainable supply chain by enabling traceability and preventing double-counting of green steel certificates.
