Fujitsu has commenced a demonstration experiment focusing on the value flow of green steel in the steel industry, starting December 2025 and ending February 2026. This project is part of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's FY2025 Industrial Research Project.

Fujitsu will utilize its expertise in CO2 emission reduction, blockchain technology, and data distribution to ensure secure data distribution and environmental value verification. The experiment aims to facilitate decarbonization and establish a sustainable supply chain by enabling traceability and preventing double-counting of green steel certificates. Insights gained will drive further development of green steel information distribution mechanisms and expansion into the steel industry data space post-2026.
