FuriosaAI Scales RNGD Chip Production Amid Korea's Growing AI Semiconductor Market
FuriosaAI is scaling production of its second-generation RNGD chips and preparing for broader distribution. The company aims to mass-produce 'Renegade+ Max' by H2 2026, integrating two Renegade+ chips on a PCIe card with four HBM3E memory units. FuriosaAI plans to increase monthly output to 2,000-3,000 units by year-end, with a target of 20,000 units annually. The company is also pursuing a Series D funding round of up to KRW 700 billion to support production and R&D, while SysOne has secured a distribution agreement with the Korean government for AI inference deployments.

FuriosaAI is advancing its production of second-generation RNGD chips, targeting mass production of the 'Renegade+ Max' model in the second half of 2026. This model will feature dual Renegade+ chips and four HBM3E memory units, increasing capacity to 144GB.
Monthly production is set to rise from 1,000 to 2,000-3,000 units by year-end, with an annual goal of 20,000 units. The company is pursuing a Series D funding round for up to KRW 700 billion to finance mass production and R&D.
Additionally, SysOne has signed a distribution agreement with the Korean government for AI deployment. The competitive landscape remains challenging, particularly against established GPU systems, raising questions about margin sustainability and customer retention.
