Gaianixx Raises ¥2 Billion in Series C Funding for Semiconductor Development
Gaianixx announced on February 2 that it has raised ¥2 billion in a Series C first round, increasing its total capital to approximately ¥3.85 billion. The funding was secured through a third-party allotment of shares to existing investors, including University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners and JX Nippon Mining & Metals, as well as new investors like Mitsui Kinzoku-SBI Material Innovation Fund II.
The funds will be used for the operation of the Yamanashi Technical Center, a pilot line, and global business development. Gaianixx's technology focuses on 'pluripotent intermediate membranes' to enhance semiconductor quality. The company currently holds 12 patents and is applying for 87 more.
