Galp to Launch Biofuels Plant at Sines Refinery by 2026
Galp is set to launch an advanced biofuels plant at its Sines refinery by 2026, producing renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel from feedstocks like used cooking oils and animal fats, along with green hydrogen. The construction phase is expected to generate up to 1,050 jobs, while the operational phase will create between 226 and 276 permanent positions.

Galp plans to operationalize its advanced biofuels plant at the Sines refinery in 2026. The facility will produce renewable diesel (HVO) and sustainable aviation fuel using feedstocks such as used cooking oils, animal fats, and other biological waste, alongside green hydrogen from Galp's H2 Park. The construction phase is expected to create up to 1,050 jobs, with 226 to 276 jobs anticipated once the plant is operational.
