Gdańsk's Floating LNG Terminal Project Reaches Key Milestone
An investment of approximately 4.5 billion PLN is underway for a floating LNG terminal in Gdańsk, crucial for Poland's energy security. Preparatory work for the microtunnel construction has commenced, aiming to connect the terminal to the national gas transmission system.

The Gdańsk Floating LNG Terminal project, with an investment of around 4.5 billion PLN, has progressed to the preparatory phase for a microtunnel that will link the facility to the mainland. This microtunnel will be 1,100 meters long and run under sensitive ecological areas, ensuring the preservation of local beaches and dunes.
The construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, followed by mobilization for the main tunnel construction phase. The project, supported by a loan of 2.2 billion PLN from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, aims to enhance energy security and infrastructure in Poland. The European Commission has also provided approximately 19.6 million euros for environmental assessments and technical specifications.
