Genneia Increases Solar Capacity in Capayán to 300 MW
Genneia has expanded its Sol del Valle solar project capacity to 300 MW from 120 MW, reflecting a significant investment in renewable energy. The Argentine government has endorsed 14 renewable projects totaling over 800 MW, indicating a broader commitment to solar, wind, and biogas technologies.

Genneia's Sol del Valle solar project in Capayán has been augmented to a capacity of 300 MW, significantly up from its original 120 MW. The Argentine government's registration of 14 renewable energy projects, with a total capacity exceeding 800 MW, highlights the growing focus on solar, wind, and biogas initiatives.
Genneia received USD 185 million in financing from BID Invest in March, part of a potential USD 320 million agreement aimed at supporting electricity transmission projects related to critical mineral investments. The Renper registry, established by Resolution 281/2017, plays a vital role in facilitating fiscal benefits and validating projects for connection to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI). This expansion may enhance Argentina's renewable energy landscape but also increases reliance on external financing.
