GeoForce Wins Geotechnical Survey Contract for Shetland HVDC Link 2 from Reach Subsea
GeoForce Technical Services has been awarded a geotechnical survey contract by Reach Subsea for the Shetland HVDC Link 2 project, supporting SSEN Transmission. The six-month offshore campaign will run from late February to August 2026, focusing on a 330-kilometre subsea connection to enhance Britain's electricity transmission network.

GeoForce Technical Services, part of Venterra Group, has been selected by Reach Subsea for a geotechnical survey for the Shetland HVDC Link 2. This six-month campaign, from late February to August 2026, will support Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks Transmission (SSEN Transmission) in creating a 330-kilometre subsea link between Shetland and the Scottish mainland as part of its 'Beyond 2030' strategy.
GeoForce will conduct seabed characterization, sediment analysis, and core penetration testing to aid in route optimization and installation design, reducing engineering risks prior to cable installation. This contract continues the collaboration between GeoForce and Reach Subsea on previous offshore projects.
