The runner-up, Service ID from Fitchburg, Wisconsin, received $5,000 for its AI-driven tool that helps water utilities identify lead pipes using homeowner-submitted photos, streamlining lead service line inventories and aiding compliance with lead and copper regulations. The initiative aims to tackle significant water challenges by promoting access to clean water and addressing lead contamination.
