Global Methanol Electric Ecosystem Alliance Established to Drive Energy Transition
The Global Methanol Electric Ecosystem Alliance was launched during the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development Forum 2026, indicating a shift towards collaborative energy transformation. This initiative aims to enhance the adoption of green methanol technology across various sectors, with a focus on integrating renewable energy sources.

The Global Methanol Electric Ecosystem Alliance was officially established on April 11, 2026, at the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development Forum, signaling a collaborative approach to energy transition. This alliance includes automakers, energy firms, and research institutions, aiming to promote green methanol technology.
Green methanol has been a focus in China since 2012, supported by over 80 policies across various regions. Notably, methanol offers energy density advantages over lithium-ion batteries, making it suitable for heavy vehicles and non-road machinery.
The alliance seeks to coordinate resources globally and enhance the role of green methanol in the transport sector, particularly as international standards are being refined. The Methanol Electric Forum 2026 in June will assess the alliance's operational effectiveness.
