GlobalWafers has built a new 261,635 square feet silicon wafer manufacturing facility in Sherman, Texas, marking the first such facility in the U.S. in over 20 years. The project utilizes Kingspan's insulated metal panels (IMPs), specifically 261,635 square feet of QuadCore Optimo panels and 7,793 square feet of QuadCore KS Micro Rib panels, selected for their thermal efficiency and design flexibility.

Completed in May 2025, the facility will create more than 1,500 jobs and contribute to the local economy. The integration of IMPs expedited construction, allowing for rapid enclosure and quicker interior work commencement, ultimately supporting the expansion of the semiconductor market.
