Glocal Green and Heidelberg Materials Sign Green Methanol Supply Agreement in Norway
Glocal Green has signed a green methanol offtake agreement with Heidelberg Materials in Norway, planning a bunkering facility at Breviksterminalen. This facility will support a methanol-powered cement carrier by 2028 and improve fuel availability for vessels. The project aims to address limited bunkering infrastructure and is part of wider efforts to expand methanol bunkering capacity along Norway's coast.

Glocal Green has entered into a green methanol offtake agreement with Heidelberg Materials' Norwegian unit, focusing on developing storage, distribution, and bunkering infrastructure at Breviksterminalen, Norway. This facility will be situated near a cement plant owned by Heidelberg Materials and is intended to support a methanol-powered cement carrier expected to launch in 2028.
The project aims to improve fuel availability for vessels and addresses barriers to methanol uptake by connecting supply with demand. This initiative is aligned with the Green Shipping Programme and aims to enhance methanol bunkering capacity along Norway's coastline.
