Governor Adil Directs Restoration of Electricity Services in Yei Town, South Sudan
Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has ordered the restoration of electricity services in Yei Town following a technical assessment by the Yei Electricity Corporation (YECO). This directive follows a report from a state committee that evaluated the facility's condition after years of inactivity due to conflict. Yei was the first town in South Sudan to receive a public power grid in 2009, established with USAID support. Governor Adil highlights the importance of reliable electricity for socio-economic recovery in the region.

A state ad-hoc committee, led by John Bullen of the Ministry of Housing, Lands, and Public Utilities, submitted a report evaluating the facility's condition after years offline due to conflict.
Yei was the first town in South Sudan to have a public power grid, inaugurated on October 1, 2009, with support from USAID. Governor Adil underscored the need for reliable power to aid socio-economic recovery in Yei River County.
