Environmental Smart CIC has secured funding from GB Energy's Community Fund for two community energy feasibility projects in North Yorkshire: the Lastingham Decarbonisation Project and the Malton Heat Network. The Lastingham project will focus on village-wide decarbonisation, exploring options such as solar PV and ground-source heat systems to reduce reliance on oil heating.

The Malton Heat Network Project aims to develop a ground-source heat network to serve Malton School and Malton Community Hospital, assessing both shallow and deep geothermal systems. Both projects will recommend community ownership models to ensure local benefits and cost reductions.
