Greater Noida Upgrades Power Infrastructure for Anticipated Summer Demand
Greater Noida is enhancing its power infrastructure to meet increased electricity demand anticipated this summer, with upgrades to key substations including the Iteda substation, which will be connected to the 220 kV Jalpura substation. The upgrades, which involve the installation of new transformers and expansion of the network, aim to alleviate outages and accommodate a projected peak demand of 950 MW, driven by population growth and industrial activity. Additionally, plans for a new substation in Badalpur are underway to further support the area's power distribution needs.

Greater Noida is upgrading key substations to manage rising electricity demand and reduce outages ahead of peak summer. The 33 kV Iteda substation, serving industrial sectors 10, 12, and 16, will be connected to the 220 kV Jalpura substation by late February.
This connection aims to enhance power distribution and mitigate tripping issues during peak demand. The Iteda substation's capacity is being increased, with two 160 MVA transformers installed. An additional 10 MVA transformer has been added at a project cost of Rs 8 crore.
Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) anticipates peak summer demand to reach 950 MW, up over 100 MW from last year, driven by population growth and industrial activity. GNIDA and NPCL are also expanding the network, including a new power substation proposed for Badalpur and upgrades to existing facilities.
