Hawaii Renewables Launches Renewable Fuels Plant at Par Pacific's Kapolei Refinery
Hawaii Renewables has launched a renewable fuels facility at Par Pacific's Kapolei refinery, capable of producing 61 million gallons annually. This project marks a significant advancement in sustainable fuel production, integrating innovative technologies for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.
Hawaii Renewables LLC has commissioned a renewable fuels plant at Par Pacific Holdings' Kapolei refinery, which is expected to produce up to 61 million gallons of renewable fuels annually. The facility achieved commercial operations in April 2026 and incorporates a pretreatment unit to enhance production capabilities.
The plant design allows for product yield adjustments based on market demand, with up to 60% of capacity potentially allocated to sustainable aviation fuel. Planned maintenance for the refinery is scheduled to commence in late June, lasting 30 to 45 days, during which the renewable fuels unit will be offline. The turnaround will involve catalyst changeout and is anticipated to be completed on schedule.
