Hella Lithuania Expands Amid Labour Shortages as Aumovio Exits Market
Hella Lithuania will expand operations despite labour shortages and Aumovio's withdrawal from the market. The company faces challenges in recruiting skilled workers as one-fifth of job vacancies in the region are in manufacturing.
Hella Lithuania is committed to expanding operations in Lithuania, focusing on automotive electronics production, despite Aumovio's exit from the Kaunas Free Economic Zone. The company plans to grow, albeit at a slower pace due to global challenges such as the semiconductor crisis and rising labour costs.
Currently, one-fifth of job vacancies in Kaunas are in manufacturing, with a high demand for skilled machine operators and technicians. Surveys indicate that nearly half of manufacturing companies are dissatisfied with job seeker qualifications, complicating recruitment efforts. As manufacturers confront labour shortages, some are scaling back growth plans and turning to employee training to maintain output levels.
