Holborn Viaduct, covering 400,000 sq ft, has achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating with a 92% score, highlighting effective sustainability strategies during the design phase. The project is set to become the headquarters for Hogan Lovells and is developed by Royal London Asset Management with significant contributions from architectural and engineering firms.
Emphasizing low carbon and operational efficiency, the all-electric office incorporates heat pumps and passive design measures. A robust materials strategy includes reusing materials and low-carbon alternatives, achieving high scores in BREEAM's materials and waste categories.
Water efficiency measures have led to over 55% reduction against baseline requirements. The project also enhances biodiversity and health, featuring a biodiverse roof garden and improved cycling facilities. Completion is scheduled for 2026, demonstrating integrated design's potential for sustainability and heritage preservation.
