Honeywell to Supply eFining Technology for Verso Energy's Seven eSAF Plants in Europe and the US
Honeywell has partnered with Verso Energy to implement its eFining™ technology for the production of electro-sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) at seven sites in France, Finland, and the United States. The initiative aims to produce 200 million gallons of eSAF annually and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 88% compared to conventional jet fuel. Verso Energy has secured EU Innovation Fund support for its DEZiR and ReSTart projects, with operations expected to begin by 2030.
Honeywell will supply its eFining™ methanol-to-jet technology to Verso Energy for seven planned electro-sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) production sites in France, Finland, and the United States. This collaboration aims to produce approximately 200 million gallons of eSAF annually, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 88% compared to conventional jet fuel.
Verso Energy has received EU Innovation Fund support for its DEZiR and ReSTart projects, which will be among the first large-scale eSAF facilities in Europe, with operations expected to start by 2030. The partnership addresses cost and feedstock challenges in renewable fuel production.
