Huawei Initiates 2 Tbps DWDM Deployments Globally
Huawei's next-generation 2 Tbps coherent DWDM technology is being deployed, with initial trials across multiple regions. This advancement is critical for enhancing network capabilities in high-demand bandwidth environments.

Huawei has commenced shipments of its next-gen coherent Digital Signal Processor (DSP) embedded in muxponders featuring two 2.0 Tbps ports. These muxponders, compatible with OSN 9800 K12 and K36 systems, support 100 Gbps, 400 Gbps, and 800 Gbps client ports.
The technology has already undergone six successful trials in regions including Europe and Asia Pacific, with a commercial deployment underway with a major Tier-1 service provider in Europe. Huawei's power consumption is notably lower at 0.1 Watts/Gbps, achieved through proprietary component development, despite using a larger semiconductor process node. These advancements may enhance Huawei's competitive edge in the optical networking sector.
