Iberdrola Invests €100 Million to Upgrade Valencia's Electricity Network Post-DANA
Iberdrola Spain is enhancing the Llanos de Quart substation in Valencia with advanced Integrated High Voltage Assemblies (CIAT), part of the €100 million il·lumina plan aimed at refurbishing the electricity grid damaged by severe storms. The project includes raising the substation platform by over 1.5 meters and introduces compact, efficient technology to improve resilience and capacity, benefiting over 650,000 users.

Iberdrola Spain is upgrading the Llanos de Quart substation in Valencia as part of a €100 million investment under the il·lumina plan, which aims to refurbish the electricity grid affected by DANA storms. The project involves raising the substation platform by over 1.5 meters and installing new Integrated High Voltage Assemblies (CIAT) that are compact and efficient.
This infrastructure, which weighs over 30 tonnes each, will improve resilience and capacity for future expansions. The initiative will benefit over 650,000 users and includes a dedicated team of 35 professionals and around 1,000 operators from local contracting companies.
