Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, Deodat Indar, convened a project management meeting with Guyana Power & Light Inc, Inter Energy Holdings, PowerChina International Group Limited, and Kalpataru Projects International Limited. The meeting aimed to address concerns and enhance coordination among stakeholders in the electricity expansion program.

Key projects include construction of new 69/13.8 kV substations in Chateau Margot, Enmore, Williamsburg, and No. 53 Village, as well as 230/69 kV substations in Trafalgar and Williamsburg. Additional works include a 69 kV switching substation at Columbia and installation of fixed capacitor banks within the Demerara Berbice Interconnected System.
