India and Rwanda Expand Defence Partnership at 2nd JDCC Meeting
India and Rwanda agreed to enhance their bilateral defence cooperation during the second Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting held on July 6-7, 2026, in New Delhi. The second Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting between India and Rwanda occurred on July 6-7, 2026, in New Delhi, focusing on expanding military training, exercises, medical cooperation, and defence industries. Co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad and Brig Gen Louis Kanobayier, the meeting included representatives from various Indian defence entities.
An implementation plan with timelines was agreed upon to facilitate the identified areas of cooperation. The delegation also engaged with the Indian defence industry and visited the Army Hospital (Referral & Research) to assess India's military medical capabilities. The MoU for defence cooperation, signed in July 2018, underscores the countries' commitment to strengthening their partnership.
