India's Green Hydrogen Initiative: Companies Transitioning to Project Execution
India aims for 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen production by 2030, supported by over ₹8 lakh crore in investments. As companies like Waaree Energies, Advait Energy Transitions, and JSW Energy progress from planning to execution, they are set to capture substantial market opportunities in this emerging sector.

India's green hydrogen initiative targets an annual production capacity of 5 million metric tonnes by 2030, backed by 125 GW of renewable energy and investments exceeding ₹8 lakh crore. Waaree Energies is establishing a 1 GW electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Gujarat, investing ₹657 crore, with commercial production slated for FY27.
Advait Energy has a 30 MW assembly facility with plans to expand to 100 MW by FY27, focusing on localizing electrolyzer component production. JSW Energy has commissioned a 3,800 TPA green hydrogen plant and signed a seven-year offtake agreement. The sector's growth depends on effective policy implementation and rapid project execution.
