India's Minister Highlights Bioenergy for Decarbonising MSMEs at National Workshop
Union Minister Shripad Yesso Naik stated that bioenergy is vital for decarbonising process heat in India's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during a workshop organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, GIZ, and Grant Thornton Bharat. He released a report on biomass solutions which can replace fossil fuels in MSMEs, which contribute one-third of India's manufacturing output.
Naik emphasized government initiatives like the National Bioenergy Programme, SATAT, and GOBARdhan that support biomass utilization and link to the National Green Hydrogen Mission. He noted the need for collaboration across the biomass value chain to ensure fuel availability and policy support for MSMEs.
