India's Union Minister Calls for Accelerated Technology Transfer and Industry Partnerships at CSIR Review

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh reviewed scientific achievements and technological contributions from CSIR laboratories in Chennai and Hyderabad during a meeting in Tirupati. He emphasized the need for accelerated technology transfer and stronger industry partnerships to enhance India's industrial engagement and support the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Directors from various CSIR laboratories presented their accomplishments, including work on sodium-ion batteries and CO₂ capture by CSIR-CECRI, geophysical insights and geothermal energy exploration by CSIR-NGRI, and innovations in footwear sizing and defence gloves by CSIR-CLRI. Other highlights included CSIR-SERC's focus on renewable energy infrastructure, CSIR-CCMB's advancements in genomics, and CSIR-IICT’s developments in pharmaceuticals. The meeting stressed the importance of need-based research and science-driven innovation for national development.
