Indonesia Announces $14 Billion Investment in 13 New Downstream Industrial Projects
The Indonesian government plans to invest Rp 239 trillion ($14 billion) in 13 new downstream industrial projects, as announced by Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. This initiative follows a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto and aims to enhance the country's energy and food self-sufficiency. These projects build on 20 earlier initiatives with a total investment of $26 billion. Key projects include an aluminum smelter, an aviation biofuel facility, and a bioethanol plant.

Indonesia's government is set to launch 13 downstream industrial projects valued at Rp 239 trillion ($14 billion) to enhance energy and food self-sufficiency. Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia announced the investment following a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto.
This initiative adds to 20 earlier projects, overseen by sovereign wealth fund Danantara, with a total investment of $26 billion. Construction is already underway on projects such as an aluminum smelter in Mempawah, an aviation biofuel facility in Cilacap, and a bioethanol plant in Banyuwangi.
