On March 30, 2026, Indonesia announced strategic agreements totaling $22.6 billion with Japan, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto in Tokyo. Key collaborations include PT Kaltim Methanol Industri's partnership with PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur for CO₂-based methanol production, and INPEX's expanded cooperation with PT Pertamina on the Abadi Gas Field in the Masela Block, with projected investments between $20.94 billion and $22.6 billion.
