Indonesian Association Calls for Geothermal Regulations to Boost Tourism Development
ADPPI urges the Indonesian government to finalize regulations for the direct use of geothermal energy to promote geothermal tourism. Current regulations are limited, primarily focusing on geothermal power generation. Establishing comprehensive regulations is seen as essential for creating standards, legal protections, and community economic benefits. The association recommends involving various stakeholders in the drafting process to ensure relevance to local conditions and to enhance economic growth from geothermal tourism.

ADPPI Chairman Hasanuddin stated that the Indonesian government must finalize regulations for the direct use of geothermal energy to optimize geothermal tourism development. Current regulations are insufficient, primarily addressing geothermal power generation.
ADPPI emphasizes that comprehensive regulations will provide uniform standards, legal protections, and community benefits. They recommend involving stakeholders such as provincial and local governments and the business community in the regulation drafting process. Enhanced regulatory support is expected to accelerate economic growth through geothermal tourism and ensure sustainable resource use.
