Intercontinental Energy Secures $1.56M for Digital Twin in Green Hydrogen Projects
Intercontinental Energy has received $1.56 million in federal funding to develop a digital twin for its green hydrogen initiatives. This project aims to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the rapidly evolving green hydrogen sector.

Intercontinental Energy has secured $1.56 million in federal grant funding to create a digital twin for its green hydrogen projects, which is part of a $3 million investment in a computer simulation of its modular node design. This initiative could potentially reduce capital and operating costs by 10-20%, complementing existing savings from standardised designs.
The company is also pursuing two major projects: the 70 GW Western Green Energy Hub and the 26 GW Australian Renewable Energy Hub, both of which emphasize modular construction and standardized design. The digital twin aims to streamline project development, thereby accelerating the adoption of green hydrogen technology in Australia. As the green hydrogen industry lacks standardized plans, this innovation could significantly enhance project delivery timelines and investor confidence.
