IPTO Implements IBM AI-Powered System to Enhance Greece's Energy Security
The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) in Greece is modernizing its electricity transmission infrastructure with an AI-powered Asset Performance Management System (APMS) developed in collaboration with IBM and NOVA ICT. This new system aims to improve the resilience of the national grid by integrating IoT data, maintenance history, and environmental parameters to provide predictive insights for asset management. The implementation will shift IPTO to a proactive maintenance approach, enhancing operational reliability and reducing unplanned outages.

IPTO is enhancing Greece's electricity transmission infrastructure with an AI-powered Asset Performance Management System (APMS) developed with IBM and NOVA ICT. This system utilizes IBM Maximo Health & Predict, integrating real-time IoT data, maintenance history, and environmental parameters to predict asset risks.
The shift from reactive to automated, data-driven maintenance aims to improve operational reliability, reduce unplanned outages, and extend asset life cycles. By leveraging AI and Machine Learning, IPTO can proactively manage high-risk assets, ensuring maximum returns on maintenance investments and achieving long-term sustainability.
