Ireland Allocates €17 Million for Research Infrastructure Projects
A €17 million investment has been announced to enhance nine major research infrastructure projects in Ireland. This funding will advance capabilities in critical sectors including advanced materials, MedTech, AI, semiconductors, and quantum technologies.

Minister James Lawless TD has confirmed a €17 million investment aimed at enhancing research capabilities through the Research Ireland Infrastructure Programme. The funding supports nine key projects, including ASPIRE at Tyndall National Institute, which will receive €4,674,908 for semiconductor material analysis, and the Atomic Layer Etch Platform at Dublin City University, awarded €2,893,041, aimed at precision manufacturing in quantum devices and sensors.
Other projects include advancements in medical device testing, communications technology, and quantum sensing. This initiative is expected to strengthen Ireland's competitiveness in global research by providing essential tools and facilities for researchers across various fields.
