Italy Announces 30 MW Tender for Floating Photovoltaic Systems
Italy's Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) opens a 30 MW tender for floating PV systems, scheduled for June 8. The move aims to enhance renewable energy capacity amid low previous participation rates in similar auctions.

Italy is set to auction 30 MW for floating photovoltaic systems on inland waters as part of the FER2 tender on June 8. This tender also incorporates allocations for biogas and biomass projects. In the previous round, only a 900 kW project was selected from a planned 50 MW capacity, indicating a significant drop in participation.
The ceiling tariffs for the new auction are €0.090 ($0.10)/kWh for installations up to 300 kW and €0.0728/kWh for systems exceeding 1 MW. The reduction in allocated capacity may reflect the challenges in engaging developers in floating PV projects.
