Jammu and Kashmir Government Approves ₹12.16 Crore for LJHP Grid Substation Capacity Upgrade
The Jammu and Kashmir government has granted administrative approval for a ₹12.16 crore project to augment the 132/33 KV Grid Substation at the Lower Jhelum Hydel Power Project in Boniyar, increasing its capacity from 40 MVA to 70 MVA. The project, sanctioned on February 4, 2026, by the Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited, includes new control and relay panels.
Compliance with technical standards and strict budget adherence is required, with no cost escalation allowed. The project will utilize e-tendering for transparency and must meet regulatory requirements, including obtaining necessary no-objection certificates. Regular progress reports are mandated.
