Japan's Industrial Output Rises 1.3% in June 2023
Japan's industrial output increased by 1.3% in June, its third consecutive monthly rise. This growth is primarily driven by demand for semiconductor equipment and devices.

In June, Japan's industrial production index reached 103.9, reflecting a 1.3% increase from May. The growth was supported by notable demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and educational notebook computers.
Out of 15 sectors analyzed, 13 reported output growth, particularly in production machinery and electronics, while declines were noted in electronic parts and iron sectors. The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry anticipates a further increase of 1.2% in July and 4.5% in August. The continued fluctuation in industrial output suggests ongoing uncertainty in market conditions that may impact future growth.
