Jefferson County Approves Tax Abatement Amendment for Zero Park After OCI Asset Sales
Jefferson County Commissioners approved an amended Tax Abatement Agreement for Zero Park 1 LLC after OCI Global's sale of local facilities delayed the project. The new construction start date is set for December 31, 2027, with a 100% tax abatement for the first four years, transitioning to 90% until 2036. Zero Park aims to supply hydrogen for ammonia production, previously linked to OCI's hydrogen supply agreement, which was affected by OCI's asset divestitures.

Jefferson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved an amended Tax Abatement Agreement for Zero Park 1 LLC on March 3. This action follows OCI Global's sale of its Clean Ammonia Project to Woodside Energy and its OCI Methanol facility to Methanex Corp., which delayed the project's timeline.
The new construction commencement date is December 31, 2027, and Zero Park will receive a 100% tax abatement for the first four tax years, decreasing to 90% until 2036. Zero Park is owned by New Fortress Energy, which is seeking partners for its hydrogen production efforts.
