Jindal India Renewable Energy Targets 5 GW Capacity by 2030 with $2.5 Billion Investment
Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE) plans to achieve 5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, backed by a USD 2.5 billion investment. The initiative aligns with India's broader goal of reaching 500 GW of renewable energy by the same year, emphasizing the importance of capacity additions in solar and wind energy, alongside advancements in energy storage and hybrid projects.

Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE) aims to reach a total capacity of 5 GW by 2030 with an investment of USD 2.5 billion. The company has already secured 450 MW of renewable projects since its entry into the market in FY 2025.
India's renewable energy sector surpassed 250 GW of installed capacity in 2025, marking significant growth towards the 500 GW target. Notably, solar projects contributed 35 MW, while wind added nearly 6 MW.
The industry is shifting focus towards hybrid and energy storage solutions to address grid stability and energy demand. Emerging technologies like green hydrogen and digital energy management systems are expected to revolutionize the market, while ongoing policy reforms are essential for overcoming challenges in project financing and capacity addition.
