Johor to Attract Semiconductor 'Queen Bee' Company, Creating 80,000 High-Value Jobs
The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone is set to welcome a major semiconductor company, potentially creating 80,000 job opportunities with salaries ranging from RM10,000 to RM15,000 monthly. Johor Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi highlighted the expected economic benefits and ongoing investor interest across various sectors, including IT and manufacturing. The JS-SEZ, established in January 2025, covers 357,128 hectares, and the region is prioritizing workforce development through various initiatives.

Johor Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi noted that the JS-SEZ, covering 357,128 hectares, has drawn significant investment interest across multiple sectors.
The Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor reported over 1,000 investment inquiries. The region aims to strengthen the workforce through upskilling initiatives and has seen RM110 billion in approved investments last year.
