Johor to Attract Semiconductor 'Queen Bee' Company, Creating 80,000 High-Value Jobs

A semiconductor company, termed a 'queen bee,' is expected to enter Johor, enhancing the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and potentially creating 80,000 job opportunities with salaries between RM10,000 and RM15,000. Johor Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi noted that the JS-SEZ, covering 357,128 hectares, has drawn significant investment interest across multiple sectors.

The Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor reported over 1,000 investment inquiries. The region aims to strengthen the workforce through upskilling initiatives and has seen RM110 billion in approved investments last year.
