Kalfresh and WELTEC BIOPOWER Collaborate on Bioenergy Facility in Queensland
Kalfresh partners with WELTEC BIOPOWER to construct a bioenergy facility in Queensland, expected to enhance renewable energy output. This project aims to convert agricultural waste into energy, supporting Australia's transition to renewable sources.

Kalfresh has entered a partnership with WELTEC BIOPOWER to develop a bioenergy facility at Kalbar, Southeast Queensland. The collaboration focuses on the design and construction of the facility's initial phase, which will feature a large anaerobic digestion tank.
Scheduled for construction in late August, the facility is projected to produce energy sufficient for 31,000 homes and support the Scenic Rim Agricultural Industrial Precinct. The facility aims to convert crop residues and agricultural waste into renewable products, including a biofertiliser.
This project reflects the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in Australia, particularly amidst recent global events impacting fuel security. The model may serve as a template for future agricultural energy projects across the nation.
