Karnataka has signed a memorandum of understanding with UNSW Australia to nurture 20 clean energy startups each year. This initiative aims to enhance innovation and commercialization in renewable energy technologies, strengthening the state's ecosystem.

The Karnataka Energy Department has entered a three-year partnership with UNSW Australia, IIM-Bengaluru's NSRCEL, and IISc's FSID to incubate 20 renewable energy startups annually. The MoU, signed by KREDL's managing director, will establish an incubation and technology innovation center in Bengaluru, focusing on solar, wind, bioenergy, and energy storage.
UNSW will provide technical mentorship and access to its global research network, while KREDL will supply local funding and infrastructure. This initiative is expected to enhance Karnataka's clean energy sector and foster international collaboration, potentially increasing investment opportunities and supporting climate action.
