The Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission (KSPPC) intends to expand its technology ecosystem to tier-II and tier-III cities, including Mysuru and Mangaluru, to decentralize innovation. The initiative includes establishing Karnataka Innovation Orchestration Centers (KIOCs) to facilitate deeptech incubation and research from 2026 to 2032.
Key sectors targeted include artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and biotechnology. The roadmap aims to connect universities, startups, and government bodies to create a unified innovation framework, potentially generating high-value jobs and attracting global investments. This effort positions Karnataka as a model for decentralized technology-driven development.
