Katy City Council has approved the purchase of a 1.304-acre tract for a police and EMS substation within the $400 million Texas Heritage Marketplace development. The $227,248 purchase aims to improve emergency response times on the city's west side as population and development increase.
The site, located at Texas Heritage Parkway and I-10, will house both police and EMS services in one building, including an ambulance. While current response times are acceptable, the new substation is expected to reduce them further upon opening. Design plans are anticipated for council approval in 2027.
