Kazakhstan and Pakistan Form Defense Partnership for Armored Vehicle Production
Kazakhstan’s Besqaru has signed a significant agreement with Pakistan to locally produce armored vehicles, including Otokar's COBRA II and ARMA 8×8. This partnership aims to enhance both countries' defense capabilities and foster technological innovation.

Besqaru, Kazakhstan's defense manufacturer, has entered an agreement with Pakistan for the domestic production of armored vehicles, including the COBRA II (AIBAR 4×4) and ARMA 8×8 (TAIMAS 8×8). This deal, formalized during President Tokayev's visit to Pakistan, represents a strategic collaboration focused on strengthening national security and developing local defense industries.
The production facility, launched in February 2025, has an output capacity of approximately 200 vehicles per year and already employs 134 local workers. This initiative reduces logistics costs and delivery times while allowing both nations to explore further cooperation in defense technology and military exercises. The long-term implications include enhanced regional capabilities and decreased reliance on traditional military suppliers.
