Kazakhstani Scientists Contribute to Clean Energy Research at Ohio State University
Three researchers from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University are advancing clean energy research at Ohio State University through the Bolashak International Scholarship. Their work focuses on utilizing microalgae for biofuel production and studying the effects of carbon sources on hydrogen production, while also addressing mitochondrial diseases linked to mitochondrial DNA mutations. This collaboration aims to enhance global research perspectives and facilitate knowledge exchange.

Three researchers from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Ardak Kakimova, Sandugash Sandybayeva, and Yelena Zaparina, are conducting research on clean energy and mitochondrial diseases at Ohio State University through the Bolashak International Scholarship. They work with researcher Patrice Hamel, focusing on microalgae for biofuel production and investigating the impact of carbon sources on hydrogen production.
Zaparina’s research targets mitochondrial diseases caused by mutations in mitochondrial DNA. The collaboration aims to enhance international perspectives in research and foster valuable knowledge exchange.
